Embarkation on Day 1, sail away on Day 2 - what happens in between?

Hi All,

Have just booked the Holy Land cruise on the Vision of the seas. Embarkation at Istanbul is on the 28th October but the ship doesn't sail until 29th October. Can anyone tell me what happens between check in and sail away? Are passengers allowed off the ship during that time?

Thanks so much!

Yes, you will be able to get off the ship. Also the ship will offer shore excusions for day 2 or you can go on your own. There will also be activities planned on board for those who wish to stay on the ship. Check the Cruise Compass that's let in your room each night. Suggest you also check out the Shore Execurions for the cruise in question.

Excellent!

We just thought it might be different because it is the embarkation port rather than one of the ports of call in the middle of the itinerary.

But that really is great news! We would have plenty of time to explore Istanbul as we also have a night post cruise there as well! :D

Thanks xxoocruiser and Familygoboston for clearing that up!
