Explorer of the Seas - Deck 6 Balcony

Recommended Posts

Can someone who has sailed Explorer with a balcony cabin on deck 6 please give me a quick bit of info. I would like to know if the life boats impede the view from the balcony or cause any other sort of problems or alterations to the balcony compared to those on higher decks?

Cheers,

Brett

Life boats are on deck 5. You should not notice them

We've been on deck six on the Explorer twice and will be there again in December. We are starboard on the hump (our usual). The life boats are well tucked in on deck five and do not obstruct the view.

All the balcony fronts on Explorer have steel bottoms. On deck 6, the steel comes up higher than on the other decks and is topped by a railing. On the higher decks, the balcony fronts have steel about 2/3 as high and it's topped with 1/3 plexiglass so you have a tad larger view looking out - this is especially noticeable when seated on the balcony because it's harder to see over the top of the steel.
