IPB4IGO Posted August 19, 2011 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2011 I just looked at the two negative Statedam reviews prior MATOTEX's review. In one review, the reviewer said "Why should I be tipping the baker and the guy who does the laundry? My husband was a baker for years and no one ever gave him a tip!" In the other review, the reviewer said "Desserts were fresh, made from scratch and the ice creams and sorbets were outstanding. My husband (a baker) is still talking about them." Was there a Retired Bakers Association convention on that cruise?
Krazy Kruizers Posted August 19, 2011 #3 Share Posted August 19, 2011 I must have missed those reviews. But 2 bakers on the same cruise -- a little strange -- I guess.
SwissMyst Posted August 19, 2011 #4 Share Posted August 19, 2011 Pernicious tipping is not part of the HAL cashless experience. No one should feel obligated to tip for anything during the cruise. it is all inclusive while onboard. Make your own personal decisions at the end of the cruise if you feel exemplary service deserves that extra reward.
