Has anyone been to Pilos Greece? Any recommendations on what to visit, shop, eat, etc?

We will be in Pylos in October so have no recommendations but can share information I found when researching this port. We plan to just walk around the town and visit Neokastro (according to Googlemaps it is about a 10 minute walk from the port).

There is also a museum (Antonopouleion Museum) open 8:30 to 3:00pm, admission 2 Euros, located just off the main square. Three Admirals Square according to the information "is the most beautiful and best one of the town". The Old Town Hall is located at the start of Anastasios Tsamados street and left of the Nileas Square. If you want to venture out from town, apparently you can get a taxi at the main square. Other sites include Nestor's Palace and Museum, or a side trip to Methoni (8 miles from Pylos) or Koroni (18 miles from Pylos). Perhaps someone who has been to Pylos will chime in with other recommendations.
