ft. lauderdale airport to port everglades, how far?

We are leaving on the Celebrity Century at 4:30 pm April 23 from Port Everglades. My wife's work schedule forces us to fly in to Ft. Lauderdale that morning or early afternoon. Question: How close can we cut it? How far from Ft. Lauderdale airport and Port Everglades??? Please advise, thanks.

The taxi drive from the airport to the pier is about 10-15 minutes. Really close. I would go for an AM arrival so you don't get tripped up with any unexpected delays if at all possible.

I'd do that but I can't because she gets off at 7 am. We can't possibly get on a plane before 10 am. There's a Southwest flight from Baltimore that arrives at 12:45 pm. Too close for me, I'd much rather get in the night before and relax but can't do it. At least on the way home we aren't in such a rush and can take the last evening flight out of Ft. Lauderdale. We can spend much of the day on the beach.

You will be fine at a 12;45 arrival. You will not miss the ship!

Turns out my wife said she'll get off Friday night/Saturday morning somehow. We are taking the 6:40 am flight from Baltimore and will arrive at 10:40. Whew! That way we can be on board by noon or so and relax. Thanks!
