Rumncoke Posted March 28, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2005 I'm hearing conflicting or confusing comments on this. Can anyone out there give me the real scoop on how early we can board the 9-day Spirit? --Not the 5-day-- Docs say 4:00pm, but I've heard earlier to much earlier. Anybody recently? Thanks! cruisingfromMN Posted March 28, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 28, 2005 We had heard conflicting times here on Cruise Critic for our 5 day which were earlier than the NCL published time of 4:00. What we did was arrived early just in case we could board. When we couldn't (boarding was going to start at 3:00), we dropped off our luggage and simply hopped on a shuttle to Bayside Marketplace. We spent two hours shopping, having a drink and listening to music. It was an enjoyable way to wait it out.
US2INNJ Posted March 29, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 29, 2005 We boarded the 9 day Spirit sometime around 1 PM, and the rooms were ready and there were already quite a few others on board. The reason the 5 day cruise boards later, is because the 9 day arrives back in Miami around 12:30 PM on Sunday, and isn't fully off-loaded until 2 PM. (The 5 day arrives back in Miami in the early morning.)
fodorspeter Posted March 29, 2005 #5 Share Posted March 29, 2005 We checked in at 1:00 and quickly found ourselves with our stateroom cards but were seated in a large collection room with probably 300-400 people waiting. The suite passengers had there own little special section and they were boarded first at about 1:00 I would guess. Then they started releasing row by row of those in the general area at about 1:30. We were in the fourth row and were in our stateroom at 2:00. Peter

superflyjeff Posted March 30, 2005 #8 Share Posted March 30, 2005 I am sailing this Friday on the 9 day spirit. So, if you have a suite, then you can board as early as 1pm??? Can anyone confirm that? That would be awesome!
fodorspeter Posted March 30, 2005 #9 Share Posted March 30, 2005 You will have no problem getting on at 1:00. When I entered the "holding room" at a little after 1:00, the separate suite passenger holding area was already cleared out. Peter
paws38 Posted March 30, 2005 #10 Share Posted March 30, 2005 We arrived at terminal/check-in about 12:50, Met Claudio at suite check in desk. After checking in, Claudio escorted us to front of security line. We were in our suite at 1:05. Peter
