peachcrek Posted September 30, 2011 #76 Share Posted September 30, 2011 So glad you found that out. Sounds like you're all set. I'm a planner too so i hate not knowing stuff. Great news! A suite opened up finally on our cruise, got it for 400 more so I'm super excited now. Finally getting into the cruise mode, been doing laundry and deep cleaning my house since the inlaws are gonna arrive while we're gone, my kids think i've lost it. Conveniently they both want to go somewhere this weekend as soon as I mention cleaning, lol. Oh and there's a slim chance Jas may be home Sunday, so not near as late as we thought. so happy you got your suite now you have a nice 2nd honeymoon room to celebrate I am going to call in late december and see if any balcony cabins are available I really do not mind keeping the ocean view but if the price is right its worth thinking about, since we are on only a 5 day I really do not like to spend to much more I would rather use that money to put a deposit down on a future cruise, well I am thrilled that everyone got thier comps from casino always call even tho you think you may not be eligible as you never know Carnival is very customer friendly!!! lindan1020 Posted October 3, 2011 #89 Share Posted October 3, 2011 Just checked on pemium package for next cruise. They said I qualifed for basic package and DH qualified for $50.00 cash in the casino. Just wondered if anyone knew what type of package that would be. Everything I have read always lists more than one item. Don't get me wrong we are more than happy to get anything, just wondering. Thanks
peachcrek Posted October 3, 2011 #90 Share Posted October 3, 2011 it varies, I am gathering from different pax that posted, Champagne, chocolate covered strawberries or canapy's and a free photo or Money off a photo and small casino gift like a key chain or something, besides your comp of 50.00. I got one also I will not know what mine will be till I sail in January but will no doubt post when I find out. last time I got a prem package I got my 75.00 comp and champagne and canapy's and I got a key chain. I think I also got the 15.00 off any photo I purchased. I love surprises!!!!!!! if you are a platnium cruiser you will get your free entry in both slot and black jack tournament and a match play for tables and free drink in casino that is usually a given after 10 cruises with Carnival. I do not know what the basic pkg is it used to be listed on their web pages opc. but they are in middle of redoing the web page so do not know what is being offered at this time wish I can help you more. BLISSA is leaving in 6 days and I believe she is getting something also. so when she gets back maybe she can enlighten us to what she received after she gets back!!!!! whatcha think Bliss let us know!!!!! peachcrek Posted October 4, 2011 #92 Share Posted October 4, 2011 thanks Bliss enjoy your evening!!!!:) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About the Ocean Player's Club...in order to eligible for the perks you do have to register at the OPC website. The perks you receive are based on the points you earn in a 24-month period of cruising. They have four different levels of membership based on the number of points you earn using your OPC card. These points will get you little perks, special offers, and cash back during your cruise. Some of the perks we have received are a fruit basket, chocolate covered strawberries, our cabin decorated (Bon Voyage), free photo coupons, a certain dollar amount in chips, extra points added to our players card, golf-type Ocean Player's Club logo shirts, Ocean Player's Club T-Shirts, tote bags, key chains, Ocean Player hat, cards, and free drinks. I usually go to their website and register about 2 weeks before our cruise leaves. Usually, on the first day of the cruise, there will be a letters from the OPC sent to our cabin telling us to bring our letters in and meet the casino host to receive our free points, chips, etc. We just returned from a back-to-back 16-day cruise on the Carnival Miracle. On that cruise, we got a fruit basket, a choice of extra points or cash added to our players cards, tote bag full of shirts, key rings, hat, etc., plus the casino hosts bought us about 16 drinks during our 16 day cruise. In addition, we both got back the normal $10 cash back every time we earned 1000 points on our player's card during the cruise. The casino hosts were very nice on the Miracle. We got to know three of them during our cruise, and they made every day a lot of fun for us. I assume the perks we got back were based on the points we had from cruises during the previous 24-month period. In our case, we have taken 5 cruises during the last year. It seems like the year before, we took only 1 for sure, maybe 2. We will enjoy the casino even if we don't get the little perks. For some reason a lot of people are afraid to use their Sail and Sign card to track their points. Also, there is no charge to you for using the Sail & Sign card as your personal bank in the casino. I normally start out the first day by putting $100 in the machine. If I decide that machine is not paying, then I can cash out quickly by uploading the balance of my $100 to the Sail & Sign card. Then when I get to the next machine, I just download the amount of money I want to play. To do this, you assign yourself a pass code, and punch in at each machine to download or upload your cash. There will be no record of this at all on your Sail and Sign card bill because you are using your own money. There is absolutely no charge for doing this. To me, it is easier than cashing out a lot of coins you have to carry around. Also, in many cases there are not enough coins in the machine to pay out the amount, so people have to wait until the casino hosts come and either put in more coins or write up a ticket that you take to the cashier. Also, punching the Sail & Sign card just makes it easier to keep up with it when putting it in the machine to track your points. Usually, with the lanyard attached it is easier to remember to grab it when you leave the machine. We have never had a problem getting it punched. The Purser's Office will also punch the cards for you. People that don't use it the casino will also get it punched so they can put it on a lanyard to keep up with it during the cruise. crusinpsychRN Posted October 6, 2011 #96 Share Posted October 6, 2011 One thing they also add is 500 points to your slot account. This way you only need 1000 to reach 1500. At least they did my last cruise. How much does that cost.

charliedog Posted October 14, 2011 #100 Share Posted October 14, 2011 On the Destiny I received the chocolate covered strawberries, on my last cruise in August I received the premium bv pkg, which was the 2 bottles of water, fruit basket and wine. On my last cruise I lost alittle over $2000 (oh well). I am sailing again in November, so first I notified OPC by phone because I noticed that their website is down and I was told that I would have $120 at the casino for me. Then I thought I would email OPC and ask again that way I would their response in the form of an email. And this is the email they sent me: Thank you for contacting the Ocean Players Club. We will be happy to extend to you a Premium Welcome Aboard gift to the value of $50, to get your cruise off to a great start. Your casino host has been notified and will look forward to meeting you on this cruise. Thank you and have a wonderful cruise! Regards, Martin van der Merwe Executive Casino Host | Carnival Corporation & plc | www.oceanplayersclub.com OK, I'm confused. Sounds like I might be getting the premium bv pkg again. But it seems to me that the pkg I received in August is over $50. I only cruise once a year and always spend too much in the Casino, and for the last seven cruises I have been part of OPC. I keep seeing posts what others have received and it's alot more than me, I wonder what I'm doing wrong, besides losing money (but I have fun doing it!). So can anyone tell me what the heck I'm getting?
