tumeroll Posted March 28, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2005 I will be in Barbados in April on the Majesty and am wondering if anyone has ever gone antique hunting here. I am a dealer and thought it would be fun to see what kind of antiques there are in the Islands
Sunniebgi Posted March 29, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 29, 2005 There are a few, but not many places to look for antiques in Barbados.. Dealers listed in the phone book are: Antiquaria II - Holetown St. James Greenwich House Antiques - Greenwich Village St. James La Galarie Antique - Paynes Bay St. James All on the west coast, so good for a taxi trip. never been to any of them.. I tried to set up a tour several years ago that centered around antiqing but was told the idea would really fly. These 3 places are small and I don't know what they have in them. You can see some wonderful antigues, but not for sale, at Sunbury Great House, and Francia Plantation. Any tour that visits an old bajan great house would be good to see, but again not really to buy. Good Luck.
