Fun Ship Drink Recpie

I have been trying to get this recipe right for a few years. I've seen one version and some minor variations. I think I have finally discovered the recipe that comes darn close.

 

This is a DOUBLE recipe (2 drinks)

 

2 oz. Smirnoff Vodka

2 oz. Bacardi Rum

1 oz. Bacardi Coconut Rum

1 oz. Apricot Brandy

1 oz. Amaretto

 

12 oz. fruit punch

 

(This is key. Many use Hawaiin Punch. DON'T! It just doesn't quite get the taste right and the drink is too red. I made a blend of 6 oz. of "Just Orange" Orange Juice, with pulp, 6 oz. of Del Monte Pineapple juice, and a teaspoon of grenadine. The pineapple juice along with the coconut rum gives it that tropical taste. You can use juice from a jar of cherries instead of grenadine, this is really just for the coloring.)

 

Shake it in a drink mixer with ice. Pour over a 12 oz. glass of ice. Decorate with an umbrella. Enjoy, and count the days until your next cruise.

This is the recipe for the Fun Ship I got from Carnival. MANY years ago, when they used to mail out quarterly magazines, they listed 4 drink recipes and the Fun Ship was one of them. I've tried it, but it never tasted right. I think the most important part is the Fruit Punch. Tried many but none tasted right. I'll have to try your recipe for the fruit punch part.

 

FUN SHIP

Crushed ice

1/4 ounce amaretto

1 ounce vodka

6 ounces fruit punch

1 1/2 ounces white rum, 80 proof

1/4 ounce apricot brandy

Lemon garnish

 

Fill a tall, footed glass with ice. Blend liquid ingredients together in a mixing cup. Pour over ice. Garnish with lemon. Umbrella optional.

very 'mai tai'-ish!! Fruit punch has always been the hardest to discern, and even asking John which fruit punch it is hasn't worked!!

 

 

On my way in 9 days.. so excited for that first funship special!!

I got this from somewhere on Carnival's website a long time ago and it also gives you the fruit punch recipe.

 

 

"FUN SHIP®" COCKTAIL

 

1/2 oz. Amaretto

3/4 oz. 151 Rum

3/4 oz. Vodka

1/2 oz. Apricot Brandy

4 oz. Fruit Punch (recipe below)

 

Garnish with a cherry and orange slice.

 

FRUIT PUNCH

 

2 oz. Orange Juice

1 oz. Pineapple Juice

1 oz. Sweet & Sour Mix

.25 oz. Grenadine

.125 oz. Angostura Bitters
