I always wanted to go to Monte Carlo and they have a tour that goes there and you spend a few hours there. Here is a description of the $99 tour. The rest of our group is going to Portofino.

Discover the pleasures of famous Monaco and Monte Carlo on this wonderful full day tour.

  • Depart by motor coach and drive for 2 hours along the panoramic highway of the Western Riviera to the base of the famous Rock of Monaco.
  • Proceed to its top via escalators and enjoy a brief orientation of the area, passing by the Prince’s Palace and the Cathedral where the Princess of Monaco, Grace Kelly is laid to rest.
  • Enjoy free time before driving to Monte Carlo, along the Grand Prix Circuit.
  • Upon arrival at Casino Square, you will have 2 hours free time to explore the beautiful area before returning to Savona..

I don't know where you will be docking, but if it is Monte Carlo, you can do it yourself easily. We did Monaco/MC by land when we lived in Germany. It takes about half a day to see all. You don't need a guide. Buy a guidebook.

If you have always wanted to go to Monte Carlo I would say go for it. It sounds like good timing to me. The price is good too. The drive should be very nice. The tour hits the two main areas and gives you plenty of time in each. I think you will really enjoy it. Try to sit on the right side of the bus as you walk to the back of the bus, the drivers side.
