Port Canaveral drive times

I checked this out on Mapquest, but wanted to check with locals or those who have done the drives a lot because I know what a huge difference traffic can make.

 

Timing: Christmas vacation

Orlando Airport to Port Canaveral drive time?

Port Canaveral to Melbourne Beach drive time?

Melbourne Beach to Orlando Airport drive time?

 

Also, most places I've looked at in Melbourne Beach have mixed reviews. Does anyone know of a real gem we can stay at post-cruise? We are meeting up with relatives who are booked into a nice condo complex, but we will only be there 2-3 days, so that isn't an option.

Port Canaveral to Melbourne Beach drive time? Approximately 30-40 minutes.

Melbourne Beach to Orlando Airport drive time? That's a tougher one. I would guess 1 hour and 20-30 minutes max via I-95 & SR 428.

Really? It's never taken me that long to get from MCO to PC. Maybe 50 minutes.

It's a liberal estimate to be sure. It also allows for a sight delay at the tollbooth just west of the airport. They probably won't have a Sunpass and may encounter some traffic if traveling on a summer weekend.

Just timed myself today. Perfect weather, clear skies and virtually no traffic. Also used the SunPass lane at the tollbooth just east of the airport.

 

Time= 50 minutes

 

Here is something you (and others) will not want to hear. There is a second tollbooth under construction about 4 miles west of the SR 520 exit. It's fairly well along and should be open in a very short time. I would think by the end of the year or sooner. Have your money handy!
