aoverby Posted September 25, 2011 #1 Share Posted September 25, 2011 Anyone know when the May 2012 Vancouver to Seattle cruise will be available to book online?
cherylandtk Posted September 25, 2011 #2 Share Posted September 25, 2011 They are already available. Look under coastals. I am not seeing any one-nighters, but there are 4-5 nights Vancouver-Seattle, as well as a couple shorter ones from other ports. Did you have a specific ship in mind? cdngrl Posted September 25, 2011 #3 Share Posted September 25, 2011 you are able to book the 2012 cruises now but i just looked up may and there aren't any one day-ers being offered. edit: cheryl types faster than i do, or at least thinks faster! cherylandtk Posted September 25, 2011 #4 Share Posted September 25, 2011 But Cheryl had to edit and was slower on that..:p My guess is that many people were using the one nighters to boost status AND Princess is seeing high response to the Pacific coastals, so instead of doing a quick repo as one-nighters, they are instead adding a couple ports and making them longer repos. aoverby Posted September 25, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted September 25, 2011 Then my question changes to why did they stop the one night Vancouver to Seattle in May? We've done that for the past few years now. That would be too bad if they stop as it's very popular.
cherylandtk Posted September 25, 2011 #6 Share Posted September 25, 2011 Because they can just as easily sell the four and five nighters in place of the one nighters and make more money from the longer cruise.
aoverby Posted September 25, 2011 Author #7 Share Posted September 25, 2011 That's really unfortunate. They've done them for a number of years. We were going to take the grand-daughter next time. Guess not.
Bars7816 Posted September 25, 2011 #8 Share Posted September 25, 2011 HAL and Princess both have 1-nighters Seattle/Vancouver. Try an online agent showing all Pacific Coastals. I wish they would do round trip 2-nighters. Much more convenient for getting back home! :)
Vexorg Posted September 25, 2011 #9 Share Posted September 25, 2011 It looks like the Golden Princess and Star Princess both have September 1-nighters in 2012, but there are no May 1-nighters on any Princess ship this year. Star Princess appears to be taking over Sapphire Princess' Seattle Alaska roundtrips next year as Sapphire is moving to Vancouver to do both roundtrips and one-way trips, and both Star and Golden are doing 4 and 5 night "Alaska Samplers" (Vancouver to Seattle with a stop in Ketchikan on the Golden, and Ketchikan and Juneau on the Star.) as their Vancouver to Seattle repos. That said, it does appear that there is a 1-day on the schedule for Golden Princess in May 2013. There are also 2-nighters from San Francisco to Vancouver that might be an option if you're just looking for the Captain's Circle credits. To be honest, I'd probably be hesitant to do another Vancouver to Seattle 1-day after the embarkation mess on the last one. It's just too short to really be worthwhile, and they also tend to be a bit of a madhouse.
cherylandtk Posted September 25, 2011 #10 Share Posted September 25, 2011 Here are the one-night cruises Princess has on the books: Star, Sep 23, 2012, Seattle to Vancouver Golden, Sep 22, 2012, Seattle to Vancouver Star, May 10, 2013 Vancouver to Seattle Golden, May 11, 2013 Vancouver to Seattle None of these are in the OP's stated timeframe of May 2012.
