Somebody needs to let the Mighty John Heald know that his "fleetwide" TV channels are NOT fleetwide.

So he can stop spreading bad information.

Last week on the Legend we had.....

Channel 11 - Satelite News. (except it was news that was a week or more old. "Peyton Manning to miss first game" on the Sunday of the 2nd week of the NFL.?!~?!?!?!)

Channel 13 - Guest Info

Channel 14- map Channel

Channel 15- Forward Camera

Channel 16-Channel guide (said channel 18 was CBS, but wasn''t all week)

Channel 17-Cruise Director Channel

Channel 18 -Spanish Infomercial channel 24/7 (supposed to be CBS)

Channel 19-Funship Voyages.

Channel 20- NBC- WNVI from the Virgin Islands

Channel 21-Concession Info channel

Channel 22-ABC- WPRU from Puerto Rico

Channel 23- Discovery channel (mishmash of really old Discovery channel shows from any of their multitude of networks, Science, etc.)

Channel 24-Shore Excursion channel

Channel 25 -CNN

Channel 26-TNTLA (latin version, mostly movies, no shows like US TNT)

Channel 27-Cruise Director Channel

Channel 28-CNN International

Channel 29-Boomerang Spanish (funny watching crappy US Cartoons in spanish)

Channel 30-Cartoon Network LA (latin, again)

Channel 31- FOX from Puerto Rico

Channel 32-CNN Latin

Channel 33-Daily Movie

Channel 34-Daily Movie

Channel 35-Daily Kids Movie

Channel 36-Shoreside Excursions

Channel 37-Audible Fun Times (very creepily read aloud)

Channel 38-Radio 1'

Channel 39-Radio 2

Channel 40-Aft Camera

The bartender in the sportsbar told us that the Legend has not had a CBS for quite awhile now....(why they carry a spanish infomercial channel instead, I have no idea why)

The Daily Movies were extremely weak.

Started with The Bounty Hunter and Astro Boy, which we saw on our Fascination cruise over a year ago?!?!?!

Then they played the same 4 movies, The Lincoln Lawyer, Rio, Lemonade Mouth and Water for Elephants over and over and over and over again, all week.

No more music video channels. (which I did not miss, but somebody else might.)

Just thought I would put this actual information out there for anybody cruising soon, as the misinformation being spread from Mr. Heald's blog, is WAYYYYY wrong.... (at least on one ship in "the fleet")

As an NFL Fan who enjoys watching games on Sunday in the sportsbar with new friends, this was by far the worst cruise out of my 9 on Carnival so far. (for watching football)

How does 7 days away from work, sailing beautiful caribbean blue seas to Belize, Cozumel. Grand Cayman, and Honduras with no TV constitute a bad cruise?

We just came off a 5 day, and didn't turn on the TV for anything but debarkation info.

Sorry the TV and movie choices bothered you. Good thing its early in the season, so you didn't miss anything critical on the football front.

If I were you I'd hop on over to Facebook yourself and let him know, rather than put anyone else in charge of your information..wouldn't want to see it get screwed up.

Wow, sorry missing football games ruined your cruise and made it the worse one you have had........If TV was that important to me, I probably would not take a chance and leave my living room......

Did not ruin my cruise, but it is something I enjoy cruisng in football season, meeting new people and having a good time.

Kind of like how some people enjoy the art auctions and others enjoy the shows or Karaoke... (all of these bore the crap out of me)

Different strokes for different folks.

Since there seems to be at least 1 or 2 questions about NFL games or college games available, every week on these boards, I figured I would spread my actual experience this past week on the Legend for them...

Apparently, I am but one in a multitude (including my DW,) who enjoy watching games with others while on vacation.

Where did I ever say I had a bad cruise?!?!?!?!?

It was my best out of 9 cruises. (except the Belize day)

I enjoy watching pieces of movies all week while resting in the afternoon or waiting for DW to get ready for dinner, ect...

I'm sure others do also...(or like catching their favorite shows, as it was premiere week that week)

I knew from the Funtimes from a friends June cruise on the Legend that Wee Jimmy seemed to be a bit lazy about his movie programming.

Our cruise just reinforced that truth.

Funny guy, but other aspects of the CD's job, seem somewhat weak on our 2 cruises with Wee Jimmy now.

Me too, Bill. Not the end of the world, but getting to see them is a great way to relax, have a beverage or four, and make new friends.

Like I said, in no way ruined my cruise...

But judging by how packed the TVs in the sportsbar and casino were at noon, with people watching the Bears/Saints game we did have, ALOT of folks enjoy watching some games together on Sunday.

Anyway, what would I be missing ?!?!?

People stuffing their faces in the Lido buffet?

Walking around the ship before muster drill?

We were still in Tampa until the NBC game (Atlanta and Philly) started at 8PM. We were passing the coast of St. Petersburgh about then.

1st you said not having football made this the WORST cruise out of your 9 so far.

Then you pointedly corrected another poster by saying this was your BEST cruise?

Which was it. And sad that missing 1 and MAYBE 2 games (since CBS and FOX alternate who shows a double header) on one afternoon of a 7 day cruise tainted your whole trip. Seems to me somebody is just looking for a reason to make the "Mighty John Heald" look bad. Not sure, but looks that way to me.

:confused::confused: Usually one would not say "by far the worst cruise" and "It was my best out of 9 cruises" when describing the same cruise...

Worst cruise for watching football, by FAR.(always enjoy cruising during football season)

Best cruise for ports and excursions and the ship. Legend is awesome...

I'm not one of those people who let a bad meal or bad port (Belize) ruin a cruise. Or in this case, poor TV options.

(unlike the multitudes of food snobs on these boards or folks who complain about decor)
