mrsb789 Posted April 1, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2005 I was wondering, Does Costa allow passengers to bring alcholic or special foods aboard? Is there a policy? Thanks, Mrs. B
Jo42 Posted April 1, 2005 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2005 You cannot take any alcohol or other drinks on board, but you can order drinks packages ahead of your cruise and have them placed in your cabin. You can do this on line with Costa all you need is your costa confirmation number.
Marie-Claude Posted April 1, 2005 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2005 Even though the policy states that you should not take anything on board, we always bring 1 or 2 bottles of wine, as we did on the Magica in January and the bags were scanned without any problem. Also, usually if you buy alcohol on board or in port, they keep the bottles until the last day. We bought alcohol both from the ship store and in ports, and they let us bring our purchase to our cabin. Hope this helps!
JR Ewing Posted April 2, 2005 #4 Share Posted April 2, 2005 My wife and I have learned the easy secret. She's a Gin/Tonic fan. I'm a Boubon/Soda fan. First we get a nice big shipping box. In that we place tonic, soda, bottled water. They can't refuse that. Between our clothing in the checked baggage we place the nice thin plastic bottles of gin and bourbon (2 750's per person). Mind you we get the "plastic travellers"....and we double zip lock each bottle and place one of each in each checked suit case. 3 cruises - no problem...knock on wood. Double zip lock insures no spillage :)

Fedora Posted April 4, 2005 #6 Share Posted April 4, 2005 I took 3 bottles of wine on in my carryone luggage without a problem. Returning from ports in St. Thomas and San Juan I saw people bringing back boxes of liquor and carrying them directly to their rooms without a problem. This did not seem to be an issue to Costa.
