Alexandria/Cairo port of call

Wondering if RC is making stops there still or if they are altering the itinerary. If they alter, where are they going instead?

Don't know what they are doing right now, but we are on the Voyager repositioning next May that starts in Barcelona and ends in Singapore, and there are 3 Egyptian ports, including an Alexandria overnight.

They cancelled all Egypt stops in February and have not reinstated them. An upcoming November repositioning cruise from Barcelona to Dubai on Brilliance of the Seas now substitutes Messina, Sicily and Eilat, Israel for the two days in Alexandria. The first RCI cruise scheduled to stop in Egypt is the BOS repostioning next April from Dubai to Rome. It remains to be seen whether or not that schedule holds.

Or if it's just a temp stop...why not have a disclaimer somewhere. I just booked and no where did I read about this.

 

 

Anyone on the 12 day Holy Land out of Rome on the Mariner of the Seas...

 

for this itinerary... what are they substituting for Alexandria?

Sorry for my imprecise language. They cancelled all Egypt stops for the remainder of 2011. When I booked Brilliance OTS Dubai-Rome for next April last month they told me "as of now we intend to sail the published itinerary", which does include Egypt.
