I was on Martinique last week fro Sun Princess and wanted to see the town. What a disappointment. Most of the shops were junk stores w/ cheap Chinese imports that you would find in a DOLLAR store but for a lot more. No real French shops. Stopped for lunch at La Cave a Vins as I was dissapointed w/ ships food. 4 glaases of table wine, 2 hors d' and 2 fish platters and coffee. $127 US. Pretty small place behind the wine racks but a hell of a price to pay. They did throw in 2 pieces of chocolate.

On the way back to the ship I stopped at the supermarket and bought some great pates and cheeses for cabin plus a so-so bread and soome water. Only $27 US. Lasted the rest of the trip.

We stop there on next Nov cruise and I think I would book a tour. I couldn't find any good Rum shops but were told there is one. Supermarket only sold cheap mixer rum and no selection. Did find cheap French spices.
