Coba with a toddler?

We are cruising with Carnival and really want to do the Coba excursion. We are questioning if it will be ok to do with our almost three year old. Carnival says it's an all ages excursion, but we're not entirely sure how kid friendly it really is.

Personally, I would skip it. You'll be taking a bus to a long ferry (45 min I think) to a long bus ride (hour and and a half at least.) It's 3 hours of traveling each way. Is your toddler going to want to sit on a bus, only to walk or get pushed in a stroller around ruins, just to get on a bus again? Doubtful.

If you really want to see ruins during your stop on Coz, San Gervasio is there. Not in the same realm as Coba, Tulum, Chichen Itza, but you could see some ruins and hit the beach in the same day, while skipping out on the travel time.

No- I was glad my 2- year old was not there- lots of listening to the tour guide- walking- maybe a ten year old would tolerate it for the chance to walk up a pyramid and learn all that history... also- hard to get on and off the ferry- lots of bus riding.

We loved it- and would do it again- but not with a kid...
