Sound and Light Show at Karnak Temple

We are trying to decide whether to do the Sound and Light show at Karnak Temple when we're in Luxor. I would like to hear some comments from those who have done this tour.

We toured the various sites during daylight hours and were wowed. Looked froward to this evening S&L show. The [walking] area is poorly lighted, uneven surfaces which are quite treacherous. A few people slipped/fell. There were a lot of negative comments. I would look for other people's experiences....and think twice about this.

We did it. Regretted it. Boring after the first ten minutes. Don't do it!

If you do it, bring a flashlight. I saw it years ago, but don't remember walking around. It probably comes down to how tired you are and if you feel confident about it after seeing the site during the day. I plan to do. Afterall, how often will you have the opportunity? .

If the narration hasn't changed since 2008, it was really hokey.

We attended S&L Show in Karnak the first time we were there, even though we were warned how crowded, how dark and how long it was.

We enjoyed it, but should have heeded the recommendation.

If you will NOT be attending the one in Cairo then do the one in Karnak. Definatly take a flashlight and a warm jacket.

If you will be attending the Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids in Cairo I would definatly skip the one in Karnak.

The one in Cairo is wondeful, watching the sun set behind the Sphinx, knowing that you are where Napoleon stood,as well as where so many famous people also stood in awe over the ages.

and after seeing it during day,,,they just had monotone speaker and stobe lights flashing,,most people dozed off,,inc.my hubby...his comment after was NEVER get me on one of these AGAIN>.so that might give you an idea.:p

What could be fascinating is unfortunately a tourist trap. And we were squeezed between a family with a restless toddler and crying baby and another jerk who spent the entire show yelling into his cell phone.
