sail7seas Posted October 24, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 24, 2011 It's been years since we went to French side of the island for shopping and lunch. I remember they used to have some designer stores and it was nice shopping but our visits in recent years we have stayed on Dutch Side. We enjoy walking to downtown, shopping, stopping for a cold drink or whatever....... Have any of you been to the French Side for shopping quite recently and was it 'worth it'? Could you mention a few stores you remember being there? Thanks if you can help.

Karysa Posted October 25, 2011 #3 Share Posted October 25, 2011 The West Indies Mall has designer shops and there is a mix of higher end and boutique style shops on the streets in Marigot. You should be able to get from the pier to Marigot in 30 minutes or even a little less depending on the traffic. Off the top of my head I think it costs $20 each way for 2 to Marigot. ReelG8r Posted October 25, 2011 #5 Share Posted October 25, 2011 assume passports are not necessary when crossing back and forth?
Karysa Posted October 25, 2011 #6 Share Posted October 25, 2011 assume passports are not necessary when crossing back and forth? No, there is no formal crossing. St. Martin uses the Euro and St. Maarten readily accepts the US$ FYI.
