Cruise-Crazy Posted October 26, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 26, 2011 Anyone know if they have lobster in the MDR one night on the 4 night cruise? If so what night? I want to do some of the other restaurants but I would like have the lobster as well if they still offer it. Thanks :)
Rare sparks1093 Posted October 26, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 26, 2011 I know that they had small lobster tails with grouper last year. I think is was the same night as dress up or not night. It was a small rock lobster tail, previously frozen and therefore not that great.

SliceOfLife Posted October 26, 2011 #4 Share Posted October 26, 2011 I don't remember seeing lobster in the MDR last year on our Sky cruise. During lunch they post the dinner menus so you can always look at the upcoming menu to decide if you want to try out a specialty restaurant that night. rvsullivan Posted October 26, 2011 #5 Share Posted October 26, 2011 On a 7 day it's usually the first night and as was said, 1/2 or a rock lobster tail with grouper. We usually don't use that as a must have. If we something worthwhile, we go elsewhere.

I think your being quite polite by saying it wasn't that great but i will say it was and has been absolutely the worse ever, always over cooked and using the word small is also being too generous to NCL, I will say microscopic small. I wouldn't even feed this to my cat. 20 plus cruises with NCL and this has always been the one and only food item that is a disgrace and can't believe they even serve this. kcfoxy Posted October 26, 2011 #7 Share Posted October 26, 2011 ...and it is served on the first night (Monday). Since doing my research on CC ahead of time, I knew the lobster would not be of the Maine variety and tended to be small, so I ordered the regular Lobster/Red Snapper offering and just asked for a second 'tail. The lobster tails were medium sized, considering they were not the Maine type, but more of a RL eatery rock lobster type. The flavor was good, the texture was fairly tough, common with overcooking :p And the included fish (sometimes it's grouper instead), was pretty darned tasty. Given my 'druthers I would have ordered 2 fish fillets and maybe 1 tail instead... 2 tails on the right, our excellent senior waiter, Connie, removed the shells upon serving, then asked if we'd like melted butter poured over them :D
Cruise-Crazy Posted October 26, 2011 Author #8 Share Posted October 26, 2011 Guess it keeps their costs down. :)
spacepotatoes Posted October 26, 2011 #9 Share Posted October 26, 2011 It was offered on our 4-day sailing in March on the second night. It was ok. I didn't end up eating the fish, though, as it had no taste whatsoever. Lobster night by adomokos, on Flickr
