blestmom3 Posted October 30, 2011 #1 Share Posted October 30, 2011 Three girlfriends and I will be cruising on NCL Sky at the end of November. We are all moms who are taking a week OFF and can't wait! I am the only person who has ever been to the Bahamas, but we do live in Florida, so beaches and pools are really not that exciting to us (We can do that pretty much anytime.) We want to do one "big" excursion while on the cruise. We are interested in either a kayak tour or horseback riding. Does anyone have suggestions for us in either location? We're in Freeport from 8-5 and are the only ship in port. The next day we are in Nassau from 8-6, but with 4 other ships. Has anyone done either of these outside of the ship excursions? Also, if we don't do an excursion in Nassau, what would you suggest in an effort not to spend much money? Thanks in advance! Blestmom
ChefM Posted October 31, 2011 #2 Share Posted October 31, 2011 When we visit Nassau, my friends usually take a taxi to Atlantis and go to the casino, outdoor areas, shops, etc. It is a very beautiful and unique place. We avoid the local Straw Market.

We avoid the local Straw Market. Atlantis will be packed to the gills as it's the week after thanksgiving and still very busy. Horseback riding, while not inexpensive, would be my pick.. since it's too hot to do it in the summer months. http://www.bahamahorse.com/
TakeMeAway1001 Posted November 2, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 2, 2011 We used Trikk Pony in Freeport for horseback riding, it was one of the most memorable excursions in my 8 cruises. The owners name is Leo, she's a sweetheart! There were only five of us on the ride and it was so peaceful and fun, she used our cameras and took lots of pics of us and most of all she loves her horses and takes very good care of them. If you google her you'll find her site :)

jsjjkelly Posted June 9, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 9, 2012 Any ideas on the kayaking? We are thinking of a carnival cruise that just goes to Nassau and wanted to do a guided kayak tour. Anyone done this outside of the cruise sponsored ones? Thanks! Shawn
