Did Chankanaab, Punta Sur last time...what should we do this time?

The last time we were in Cozumel, we did a ship's tour that included snorkeling and a trip to Punta Sur. This time, we'd like to do something different, preferably on our own, and that included snorkeling. We do not want to pay a lot of money for a beach day...would rather go to a public beach (maybe small entrance fee) that offers snorkeling and the possibility for sone water sports, such as parasailing. Any recommendations?
