Buy Used Gear from Caribbean Dive Shops??

While planning some dives with shop in the islands, several state that they only use gear for approx 1 year before upgrading.

 

So I started to wonder what do they do with the old gear?

 

Has anybody ever purchased or heard of an island shop that offered their used gera for sale? In my limited Dive live and useding the shops gear, I find the gear to be good quality and in great condition, at least the BC's.

I'm sure they just sell it off as the shops in the states do. I don't think I would ever buy equipment like that however. It may look good sometimes but you just know that equipment takes a beating. You also don't really know how well its been cared for/cleaned
