Kuppykat Posted April 18, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2004 In 1971 I went on a 4 day cruise to nowhere out of NY. For the life of me I can't remember the cruiseline. I do remember the staff was all Greek and handsome. It's funny because I can remember the cabin and everything we did for the 4 days, yet can't remember the name of the ship.Anyone????? Thanks, Linda "Happiness is a choice"
bcruzin Posted April 18, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2004 Could it have been Chandris (sp?) with the X. It was a Greek line and is now Celebrity. The ships I remember are I think the Americanis,Galielo and the Brittanica. (sp? on all)
Kuppykat Posted April 18, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted April 18, 2004 I wish I knew....lol It's driving me crazy and I can't seem to find it online, maybe I'm not looking in the right places. The Britanica (SP) sounds familiar....... Oceanic 8/69 NCL Dawn 3/04 "Happiness is a choice"

Kuppykat Posted April 20, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted April 20, 2004 I'm almost 98% sure it was Olympia...I was told this ship went out of NY for 4 day cruises in the early 70's. This ship is still sailing today as The Regal Empress for Imperial Magesty Cruise line. Thank you, Linda Oceanic 8/69 Olympia 9/71 NCL Dawn 3/04 "Happiness is a choice"
albertiger Posted April 20, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 20, 2004 just to clarify, it was the Britanis and the line was Chandris Fantasy Cruises. Same family that started Celebrity. and Kuppy, you're correct, Regal Empress was Olympia at one time. "live long and prosper...so you may cruise!" Bleakdecember Posted April 20, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 20, 2004 Howdy all, My folks sailed on the Olympia (Greek Line) back in the early 70's and also on the Queen Anna Maria (also Greek Line). Just for kicks does anyone know if the Queen is still around? Taking my 1st cruise on 10-24-04 on the Crown to Bermuda with two of my buddies (all of us single maniacs) and I know the only way we wont have a good time is if we sink! :-) Great board, I have learned alot, thank you all for the tips and info. Kuppykat Posted April 20, 2004 Author #8 Share Posted April 20, 2004 The Queen Annamaria is now called "The Topaz" known as The Peace Boat. The peace boat works to promote peace, human rights, equal and sustainable development and respect for the envoroment.
