twomcks Posted April 27, 2004 #83 Share Posted April 27, 2004 Bob, thanks for the great info. My niece sailed president's week. They loved the ship but the weather was cold all week and rough seas. We'll be sailing in two months, can't wait. Thanks again, Lenore

poppycat Posted April 28, 2004 #88 Share Posted April 28, 2004 Thanks so much for all the information. I didn't realize it would be so detailed. I forwarded a copy to my sisters who also have a cabin on the Dawn for 5/30 cruise and she's a TA so maybe that will help someone else who will be sailing the Dawn. Great review! sclauss Posted April 28, 2004 #89 Share Posted April 28, 2004 Hello Bob - I'm sailing on the Dawn 5/16/04 (less than 3 weeks!). I would love a copy of your research. My e-mail is sclauss@optonline.net Thanks very much in advance! Sharon
quote:
Originally posted by bob823: Sasisu, We booked the honeymoon package and have been married 20 years! I think the "honeymoon package" is just the name for the offering. Legalcruiser gave you the details of what is included. I also ordered the bottle of wine and fruit basket, which I thought was a good deal too. So we started the cruise off with a bottle of wine, and a bottle of champagne in our room! We drank some of the wine, and put the champagne in the fridge for another day. By the way, if anyone is interested, I have a Microsoft Word document that I put together when I was doing my research for the cruise. If anyone wants it, just send me your email address and I will forward it to you. It contains mostly comments about the restaurants, and tips about the cruise. Happy cruising, all!!! bragstarr Posted April 28, 2004 #91 Share Posted April 28, 2004 Bob, I have a question--Teppankayi is a la carte, right? About how much did a meal cost? Just trying to get an idea--thanks. bob823 Posted April 28, 2004 Author #92 Share Posted April 28, 2004 Robin, Teppanyaki is a la carte, yes. I had the most expensive item on the menu - The Imperial Feast. It was $15, and worth it! Steak, shrimp, and scallops. The other items on the menu were $12.50, I think. There is an item in my tips file in the Teppanyaki section that gives more info. Don't forget the warm Sake! Order the double (6oz). It comes in a cute little ceramic container. Docswiffy Posted April 28, 2004 #94 Share Posted April 28, 2004 Ok I give in too can you send it to me as well! Thanks for your great review. We said in 5 weeks and you made me sooo excited! One other question as we plan on partaking in all the surcharge restaurants. Once you pay the cover price does that cover as much as you want? Or just one app, one soup etc. Sometimes hubby cannot decide and likes two entrees...I saw several menus charged additional as well but I am not talking about those items. Also the sushi is that all you can eat only early or all night? bob823 Posted April 28, 2004 Author #95 Share Posted April 28, 2004 djmpj and docswiffy, The file is on its way to you. Please let me know if you have any questions. docswiffy, We had the Sushi for lunch. I am not certain whether the all-you-can-eat $10 special is available all evening, but I recall seeing people eating sushi on Saturday night after we finished our dinner at Teppanyaki (it was about 7:30pm). When we had dinner at Le Bistro, we only ate one entree, I don't know if they would allow you to order more than one. We did order more than one appetizer each. That was not a problem at all. My brothers had dinner at Cagney's one night, but again, I don't think they ordered more than one steak. Happy Cruising! TheHappyTraveler Posted April 28, 2004 #96 Share Posted April 28, 2004 Hello again Bob: Can you tell me what the majority of women wore in the restaurants for dinner? I am planning to wear mostly capris since that is my normal attire but don't want to feel out of place if I am not dressed up enough. Thanks again. bob823 Posted April 29, 2004 Author #97 Share Posted April 29, 2004 Good morning, HappyTraveler, My BW wore capri pants to dinner every evening with a nice blouse. She fit in just fine at all the dining establishments. The only place that we dressed it up a bit was Le Bistro for our Honeymoon Package dinner (to celebrate our 20th anniversary). But even on the formal night many people are still wearing their cruise casual attire and it was fine. You will not feel out of place. Just relax and have a great time!!!
