allener58 Posted November 22, 2011 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2011 I always do luggage express, but this cruise I was summoned to the dining room at 7:30 am to meet and debark with all other luggage express people. They kept calling me over the load speaker and calling my room while I was in the shower. Didn't even have breakfast yet. I was cruising with 7 other people that didn't do luggage express and they had zone 29 for debark. Is this something new? Very inconvenient as I had to separate from my friends for 2 hours.:mad:

S.S.Oceanlover Posted November 23, 2011 #3 Share Posted November 23, 2011 same thing happened to me 2 cruises ago while using LE. I was in the shower and front desk said I need to get off the ship immediately. After asking a couple of times why so early they would not answer, just said get down here now and once off you cannot reboard. Turned out we got selected for a random search, I think. In September we cruised again but not LE and again got paged and told to come down and bring our passports. we go down, they escort us off the ship, into the immigration lines. The Carnival security guy gives our passports to another guy who looks at them and looks at some list, shakes his head no, and they give us our passports back and said you are free to go. No sorry for the mixup , nothing. I'm starting to think my name matches somebody elses that is on some kind of list. Bill
coachj Posted November 23, 2011 #4 Share Posted November 23, 2011 A couple years ago when luggage express first started we were required to meet at a certain time in a given area, but that hasnt happened to me in at least 2 years. Homeland security works differently in each port. It should have been spelled out to you in your letter accompanying your luggage tags.

Homeland security works differently in each port. It should have been spelled out to you in your letter accompanying your luggage tags. It was spelled out, I just didn't pay attention since I've done it in the past. 3 times I used it was in Miami, Once in Fll. This was the first time I had to get off early. I guess it was my fault, but still didn't like it. This is supposed to be convenient, not inconvenient. I won't make that mistake twice. I really like Luggage Express, but won't do it again unless they change the system.
