We will be sailing on Queen Victoria January 4th. I am asking this question for my husband. Does anyone know if the football play offs will be broadcast on board. They were on Queen Mary 2 last year so he is hoping. Please no sarcasm - I know there are better things to do on board.

I am no expert on the matter, but there have been football games on the TV in the pub when we have been on the QV and QM2 in the past, so as long as they will be able to get a TV signal here's hoping they will be able to show the playoffs.

We are also on this sailing - do join our roll call at:

Hello

I sailed on QV from NY to LA back on 1/13/11. I griped that only ONE NFL live playoff game was played in any of the lounges. Plenty of cricket though even thought few seemed to be watching. There were many Americans on board who were annoyed as well....not sure what to expect this year but do not let it ruin your trip....

I've had a similar question on board both QV and QE about the Formula 1 motor racing and even asked the Entertainment Director in advance if they could lay it on. He told me that it wasn't in the package pre-ordained by Cunard, but there was plenty of Premiership and Championship football, plus cricket available in the Golden Lion pub. No use to me, but presumably someone was happy.

Strange, because F1 is (or at least was) available on P&O. At at the end of the day they are both part of the same Carnival ownership. I guess there is someone actively (?) deciding on TV for the target population on board. Motor racing is obviously too exciting and/or specialist for the average Cunard punter.

I suggest asking about American Football when on board, but I suspect you will get only what someone has decided in advance it is safe for you to watch. It might depend on the locality and the expected clientele, and because you start and finish in the US, you might get lucky.
