serene56 Posted December 6, 2011 #26 Share Posted December 6, 2011 They really do need to be consistent with the Funship Dollars. Because of that inconsistency, I don't think I'd ever want to run the risk of taking my dollars onboard with me and have someone tell me they can't be used. It's much easier to just enter them online which I've already done and have been credited. I have been on these boards for a very long time- i can honestly say that I have not ever heard of someone taking funship dollars and they were not honored. If I did I would not buy them like I do now.
Elmo31 Posted December 8, 2011 #27 Share Posted December 8, 2011 we were just on the dream last month and had no problem going to guest services and having them applied to our on board credit. my parents were on the legend last month and also had no problems. Virga Posted December 8, 2011 #28 Share Posted December 8, 2011 If you would have read the whole post, they thought the OP was talking about the FCC. So please read before posting. lmao, seriously? height of hypocrisy, right there.

Elmo31 Posted December 8, 2011 #30 Share Posted December 8, 2011 I think some people are getting confused about the 2 different certificates.... 1. FCC--They are Future Cruise Certificates AND 2. FSD--Fun Ship Dollars 1.You can take the fun ship dollars on board with you and have them applied to your on board credit or have them applied directly to your booking when purchasing or mail them in certified mail 2.With the FCC you can mail them in certified mail or input them on the proper form on Carnivals site and they will be applied to your account (you cannot carry these on board for credit) This is what I have experienced. If anything has changed since October 2011 please feel free to correct me. I hope this has helped. I have used both methods many times. Everyone have safe and happy cruises!!! re-re Posted December 15, 2011 #32 Share Posted December 15, 2011 I was having the same problem but discovered that you need to have "compatibility view" turned on in your browser. Go to Tools, then Compatibility View, and the online form will work! I have been trying to add mine and it didn't work,I took your advice and i'm happy to say it worked,i had to use Internet explorer,as Google Chrome would not work, Thanks.:D
nutley chick Posted December 15, 2011 #33 Share Posted December 15, 2011 When it finally worked for me I entered 3 different certificates 2 for $200 each and the very next day they showed up on my docs as OBC the other one for $500. still hasn't shown up and its been almost 2 weeks. Should I call? if so, does anyone know what number I should call?

serene56 Posted December 15, 2011 #37 Share Posted December 15, 2011 Thanks,It's not there so maybe it will show up in few days. its gonna take a bit if you just put it there- is that for your cruise in almost 300 days? Credit for cruises that are happening sooner will take place before yours is creditied

imluvncruzn Posted December 16, 2011 #39 Share Posted December 16, 2011 I definitely have FUNSHIP dollars and on the back, the instructions say they MUST be mailed in ahead of time....that is why I originally started the thread. Instructions on the back have always said that yet they've always been redeemable at purser's desk. I cruise a few times a year and always have funship dollars and they've always been accepted at the pursers desk. Never had a problem yet!
BamaCruiser20 Posted December 19, 2011 #40 Share Posted December 19, 2011 I just sailed on the Freedom on 12/3 and took my Funship Dollars to Guest Services on the next to last day ( I wanted to make sure I used up all my non-refundable OBC first) and had them applied to my S&S account. No problems. The first person I gave them to went to get a supervisor to do it. He did have to take them somewhere other than the Guest Services Desk to scan them b/c the scanner wasn't working. But, there was never any mention of having to apply them before the cruise. A different question concerning the FSD....has anyone applied them along with some non-refundable OBC (such as the OBC from a FCC)? My question is whether they take from the non-refundable first. I would hate for all my FSD credit to be used before the FCC credit and end up losing the money left over.

If you are concerned with left over money- you go to the casino and cash out that sum into the slot machine. play a few spins then cash it back to your card-- take the card to the casino cage and she gives you your money
