ccletzgo Posted December 15, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2011 Anyone with experiences on a time frame? Cancellation was for personal reasons. We know it will be denyed and wish to use Celebrity's Cruise Care to book a January Cruise. It has been over two weeks and still no word. Just a simple denial is all we are waiting for.. cruiseco Posted December 15, 2011 #2 Share Posted December 15, 2011 Anyone with experiences on a time frame? Cancellation was for personal reasons. We know it will be denyed and wish to use Celebrity's Cruise Care to book a January Cruise. It has been over two weeks and still no word. Just a simple denial is all we are waiting for.. Two weeks is about the earliest you'd expect to hear back. You might want to call Berkley Care directly and verify that they received the claim forms you submitted. It doesn't happen often but things still do get lost in the mail. See if it's been assigned to a claims person yet and maybe you can contact that person to get your claim bumped up higher in the stack, especially if you tell that person that you know it will be denied and that there is a time element involved. Unfortunately, Celebrity won't do anything for you until Berkley officially makes the denial. But there's a chance the denial has been made but the written notification to you is somewhere in the mail (I believe that insurance regs require that any claim denials be made in writing). So there's a chance you could get the ball rolling with Celebrity even if you haven't received the written notification yet.
ccletzgo Posted December 15, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted December 15, 2011 Thank you. It has been assigned and is in "process". Berkley told me not to bother contacting celebrity.. Nothing they can do until the denial. We are going into our 3d week.. I'll hang in there..
