Pancho's Backyard/Cinco Soles

Anyone know anything about Panchos for lunch and Cinco Soles for shopping? thanks.

We did the majority of our shopping there and had lunch at Panchos. We loved our lunch; the service was great and the food was very good. Not your typical American "mexican" food, very flavorful. The margaritas are great too.

 

We found the prices to be good at Cinco soles; you can't negotiate, but they are reasonable and the selection is huge.

Cinco Soles has the largest selection of Mexican made products and souvenirs on the island. Because they buy in quantity their prices are very fair. Their buyer also has wonderful taste. Pancho's is a lovely restaurant in an outdoor courtyard. They can get very busy on high cruiseship days so expect a wait.

Cinco Soles also takes credit cards without a problem. It's a great store.

We also liked Cinco Soles, though we didn't get to eat at Pancho's. The store has a very nice selection and reasonable prices from what I saw. We bought a number of things there.

Just make sure you go to the original location downtown. There is now a pancho's/cinco soles on one of the ship piers and the shop is not nearly as big and the restarant doesn't have the atmosphere of the original location. There is no better place to eat or shop IMO and they are in the same building. You can't beat that.

Five stops at Cozumel in the last 2¼ years. Five times to Pancho's & Cinco Soles. Never dissapointed. We try to hit Pancho's around 2PM. The crowd has thinned out and the Mariba Trio is still playing.

 

WARNING: Shop first before the margaritas :eek: .......On one trip we forgot what liquor we had purchased (big selection of tequila) and had to wait for the last night of the cruise to fill out the customs papers.
