vanislandcruisers Posted December 23, 2011 #29 Share Posted December 23, 2011 I so wish Carnival would bring in an alcoholic beverage policy... So do we!!... Dee and I have been on 7 Carnival cruises since January 2008 - 4 of which were 7-dayers, 1 5-dayer, 1 4-dayer and 1 3-dayer. We have done 3 cruises where it was just the 2 of us and all 3 were booked through Carnival over the phone using either a CVP (1st Cruise) or our PVP. We have done 1 Cruise Critc Group Cruise booked through the Cruise Critic TA, 1 Group Cruise booked through a TA, 1 Carnival PVP booked cruise where it was us, friends we had met on the CC Group Cruise and my niece and her fiance who booked through or Carnival PVP + one short Family cruise booked through a TA. We have 2 cruises booked through a TA coming up in the next 13 months one of which is a Bar Card cruise. Up unti now we have been on one Cruise that included a Bar Card. Wouldn't hesitate to book using any of the methods above or with the Bar Card or deal with any of the people we have dealt with in the past....CVP, PVP, CC TA or TA.....and have. We, by no means are Cruise Experts. But we sure know us;) We have each carried on a bottle of wine on 7 out of 7 cruises - CABIN WINE. We have purchased a Wine Package 5 out of 6 times - OUT OF CABIN WINE. We have Bon Voyaged wine/champagne 4 times. and received gifts of and/or Group perks of wine 3 times _ CABIN WINE We have consumed a Wine Package's worth of wine and 2+ bottles of wine 7 out of 7 times.:D We have successfully smuggled 'our own' in Rum Runners 3 out of 7 cruises. - CABIN BOOZE . We have only tried 3 times. WE ARE LAZY ON VACATION We got a naughty letter once for a 1/2 drank bottle of Crown in one of our suitcases which was left over from the Hotel the night before:o. - JUST COULDN'T LEAVE IT BEHIND May or mat not be a 4th smuggling attempt coming up shortly. We have Bon Voyaged 'our own' 7 out of 7 times including the Bar Card cruise. - CABIN BOOZE + WE ARE LAZY ON VACATION. We have purchased 1 Soda Package - 1st Cruise - We quickly realized we were far too LAZY to go from the Cabin to a Bar to get Mix when there was a little fridgeful of it right beside us. We have carried on Mixers 6 out of 7 times.:D Dee has decided I am not too lazy to do this We have both carried off and left Booze/Wine on the Ship depending on 'What's up?' - are we staying post-cruise or flying out right away?? We have always had a Balcony Cabin - CABIN BOOZE and WINE We got to the casinoa and we have visited many Bars on the Ships and in the Ports. OUT OF CABIN BOOZE. We have booked private excursions and excursions through Carnival. We have been on 1 Cruise where it went from being a 7-day Mexican Riviera Cruise to a 7-day Cruise with a stop in San Francisco. We have booked a long ways out (approx. 2 years) - nice to have time to pay-as-you-go and have booked 1/2 a year out as well as a next month kinda deal. 7 out of 7 times we have cruised without incurring any interest charges - Cruise paid for beforehand and S&S bill paid immediatley afterwards We have flown approximately 25000 miles between us to cruise, most of it through a Frequent Flyer program We have introduced lots of of our friends to cruising and continue to do so. We love to meet fellow cruisers and the crew, have fun, laugh and explore the Ports and don't feel like we have ever done anything to 'take away' from others enjoying their cruise -and as you may have guessed - We Hydrate!!! We have conducted ourselves the same way 7 out of 7 times with the exception being that we drank more water and soda by themselves on the Bar Card cruise because they were included too. - I guess we are frugal when it comes to the non-alcoholic drinks. All I know is when we take a look at our average daily spending, throwing out the 7-day Team Magic Cruise which was 6 Sea Days, our lowest average per day spending cruise was our Bar Card cruise when you add together the cost of the Bar Cards for the 2 of us ($770) and our S&S Card bill and we still had an S&S Bill. We also liked the idea of it being pre-paid. Considered it more of an investment - Futures in Alcohol We are confident that we have participated in the purchasing of more than $110/day worth of Wine Packages, Beers, Cocktails, DOD's, Waters, Sodas, etc + 15% Gratuities 7 out of 7 times. (Which is really $98.65 + Gratuities/day)....We are certain we paid no more than $110/day on only 1 cruise. I know I am only basing it on 1 cruise but as the Black Eyed Peas sing ..."I gotta feelin..." So KruznKel, I wish along with you But that is just me!!!
