Carnival Legend Review

Saturday 12/10. Flew into Tampa and stayed the night at Holiday Inn at Rocky Point. Clean Room, nice hotel. They provided continental breakfast, and a shuttle that could take you within a 4 mile radius. We had the driver take us to walgreens to pick up water and a wine store to get some wine. Your'e allowed 12 pack water/soda and 1 bottle of wine on the ship per person.

Sunday 12/11. Went to the port around 12:30. Waited about 45 minutes in line, then boarded the ship. We Had Room 8204. This was a balcony room, close to the middle elevators. Room was good, not noisy. We only seen our Room Steward once the entire time. At 3 pm, we had a Cruise Critic unofficial meet and greet at the Serenity Bar.

Monday - Sea Day. I spent most of the morning on the Serenity Deck, an adult only area. I got there around 8:30 am and was able to find a seat. They get taken quickly. At 2 pm, CC members were having a slot pull. We all met at the Casino and put $15 in each. We each took turns playing. Although we were up some $$, eventually we had so much fun we just kept playing until we lost it all! Well worth the fun though! Then at 3pm was our Official Meet and Greet at Billies Piano Bar. We paid $11.44 per person for a 1 hour open bar. CC members could buy "raffle" tickets and then the winner got 1/2 and the waiters got the other 1/2. Our CC group was Awesome! so much fun! This was also a great time to try new drinks. I ended up loving Miami Vice - half pina colada, half strawberry daiquiri.

Tuesday - Grand Cayman. I booked the "Wave Runner, Stingray City, & Rum Point Beach Tour" through Island Marketing. We took Wave Runners out to the stingrays. The water was Very Choppy! We still had fun. I love the stingrays. Then we went to Rum Point Beach. This was supposed to be for an hour. We were there only about 20 minutes. I went up to the bar to buy a drink, and the bartender said the bar was still closed. She was rude. We were supposed to stay at the beach for an hour, but I didn't mind leaving. My husband had purposedly tilted the wave runner while goofing off and I fell off it twice, leaving rubber burns on my legs. So I was ready to get out of the water. I will have to say, I don't think I'd use Island Marketing again. Our tour guides didn't seem to care and weren't very friendly. Needless to say, I did not tip them.

Tuesday night, CC members had a "Cabin Crawl." At 8 pm, we met up at the first room. You stay in each room for a half hour, then move on. Each room Host provides drinks/snacks. Since your'e allowed to bring 1 bottle of wine on the ship per person, we served wine. I also made "Vodka Gummi Bears." We all had a blast. I'd have to say, our CC group was soo much fun!!

Wednesday - Cozumel. I booked the Nachi Cocom beach break. They limit guests to 100, so it was a very quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Drinks are unlimited and you have a menu to order lunch off of. The lunch includes appetizer, main course, and dessert. I had Fajitas, which were good. And the nachos were great. The bartenders were great, and my drink was always full. They have a beach area with lounges, or you can go by the pool. They have beds by the pool. The hot tub is more lukewarm than hot. They offer watersports for extra $$.

Thursday - Belize. I booked cave tubing through Charliescavetubing.com. Charlie Chan is the BEST!!! We had a small group - 10 people. Charlie had his 2 sons with him. He was able to take his time and explain so much. HE has a degree in Horticulture and knows his stuff! He is also Really Funny! Charlie had us laughing the entire time. I would absolutely Recommend him!!

Friday - Mahogany Bay, Roatan. Booked Victor Bodden Tours - "Zip n Dip."

We were met by Anna, our tour guide. She was wonderful. We had a small group, 9 of us. On the bus, she was able to point items of interest out, and answer all of our questions. We went Ziplining first, which was a blast. Then, we did the monkey business - played with the monkey, birds, and checked out the other animals. After, we went to West Bay Beach for 2 hours. There's a little restaurant there, where we ordered lunch. Some people went snorkeling. On the way back to the ship, we stopped and took pictures along the way. I would also highly recommend this.

Saturday - Sea Day. Again, I was on the serenity deck. I had woke up with a kink in my neck and was able to get in right away for a massage. I had a swedish massage with hot stones done. This was wonderful. After tip, I spent $115. A little pricey, but it was worth it. At 3 pm, our Cruise Critic Members met up at Billies Piano Bar for another 1 hour meet and greet. We all had so much fun at the first one, we decided to do it again! Good times.

Overall we had a lot of fun. I did like the Liberty more than this ship. This ship seems older, even though it was recently dry docked. The breakfast was OK. IMO, they could improve in that area. Lunch was always good. We had anytime dining. The first night, we wanted a seat for 2. We had to wait an hour. Later that night, they sent a plate of chocolate covered strawberries to our room for the long wait. That was a nice touch. The waiters were a hit and miss. The first 2 nights, our waiters were sooo slow and boring. The food was lukewarm. By the third night, we had a quick, friendly waiter from the Phillipines and I requested him every night after. Our food was always hot with him. I tipped him too. I heard the shows were good. We didn't care for the piano player/singer in the piano bar. She was really nice, and has a good voice, but there was something about her that didn't work. It was hard for her to really sing male songs. The ship's decor was, well, full of Urns! lol. It's kind of bland. Staff were friendly at the bars. Overall, I love Carnival and we plan on booking our Cruise for Dec '12 soon.

Vodka Gummi Bears

Use higher Quality Gummi Bears/worms/etc

place Gummi's in GLASS container.

Pour Vodka over gummi's, enough to cover them.

Cover container, and place in fridge for a few days.

Enjoy!

I used Albanese Gummi Bears, this is a candy factory by me. Also, i used Smirnoff Vodka.
