tcad1 Posted April 11, 2005 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2005 Anyone know who the Master will be for the 2006 World Cruise? Also, what computer access exists in the staterooms. If you had a laptop, could you access the Internet? Thanks!

In terms of computer access, is there any in your stateroom? If you are lucky it will be Captain Ian McNaught. He is the current Master of QE2. cunardqueen Posted April 12, 2005 #6 Share Posted April 12, 2005 .... and if your really really lucky it will be Captain Nick Bates, very much a people person, reminds me of the late Alan Bennell, again a wonderful guy, both super personalities, but thats only my view. But then If l could afford the fare and the time for the world cruise, l wouldnt care who the captain was cheers Myles

guernseyguy Posted April 14, 2005 #9 Share Posted April 14, 2005 Myles, I believe you - as long as you don't refer to yourself as 'We'! Sadly, the Captain Pugwash story is an urban myth; it was Master Mate, Tom the cabin boy, and Pirates Barnabas and Willy (ooh er Missus).....despite the various reports in such reliable organs such as the Grauniad to the contrary.....you can read all about it here: http://www.snopes.com/radiotv/tv/pugwash.htm Peter PS This will confuse the cousins..... Blazerboy Posted April 14, 2005 #10 Share Posted April 14, 2005 Very funny! Reminds me that when I was a fourth former, we had a teacher named Richard Bator- his coworkers called him Dick, and the teachers WERE refered to as Masters. Schoolboys always got a lot of chuckles at the possibilities, but I don't think anyone dared utter the whole phrase out loud for fear of being accused of participating in same.:)
