Smokett Posted January 3, 2012 #27 Share Posted January 3, 2012 Did you go to the casino?? Did you have any luck, and what slots or table game did you play?:confused: leedm I know this question wasnt directed at me but we just got off of the Conquest in November and spent most of our time at the Fun 21 table. I love that game! Be sure and bet on the pairs every time. That is how I won most of my money. (Not that I won alot, LOL)

Umbarger Posted January 4, 2012 #31 Share Posted January 4, 2012 I just got off the Conquest too. Good cruise, however, all cruises are good in my opinion. :D We did early dining in the Monet dining room. We also talked to people who did anytime and was told of having to wait. Our service wasn't good in the dining room at all. Waiting more than 30 minutes between courses is way too long. We rarely stayed for desert as it was just too long to wait. The waiters always seemed busy so perhaps they had too many tables or were overworked. I have never had to endure such a loud dining room. It was always so noisy. The last night was new years and they placed hats, horns and noise makers on the tables. What a mistake that was. We heard the horns and noise makers all through that dinner. We couldn't wait to get out of there. We had an outside cabin on deck two, however, the window was so coated and caked with dried sea water and dirt we couldn't see out of it. I told guest relations and was told they are cleaned constantly. That window couldn't have been cleaned in months. Well, it wasn't cleaned on my cruise and I bet you it still isn't cleaned. I think when you pay for an ocean view that is what you should get not a filmy, streaked, cloudy view of nothing. All we got was some natural light. It should have been sold as an obstructed view. If I could of I would have cleaned that window myself I would have. I have never been given so much free booze on any of my cruises before. We were given free champagne upon embarkation and they kept coming around the buffet handing it out. We had three glasses each. Surprised we were able to find our cabin after that. ;) Then the past guest party was fantastic. Food and lots and lots of free drinks. They kept coming around giving us more and more. On New Years we were given free champagne again. We also brought on two bottles of wine. We didn't have to buy anything on board. Weather and ports were all great. Loved the production shows. We went to the family friendly version of the comedian at the comedy club. We weren't expecting much since it was family friendly. We thought all the jokes would be geared towards kids, however, it was just excellent. He was so funny. We went to the later R rated adult only version and it was just a reason to say the F word a lot and jokes about sex. The family friendly version was much better! Apparently, there were 808 kids on this cruise. There were a few loud groups of teenagers but we never had any problems. There was an adult only pool and hot tub at the very back of the ship and whenever we were there we were surprised that it indeed was adult only. Progresso was so cheap. $1 corona's and 30 minute massages were only $10. I didn't get a massage as they were public, no privacy at all. Great for men but not for women. Hope everyone has a great cruise!
CaseyAnn Posted January 4, 2012 #32 Share Posted January 4, 2012 Was the free champagne upon embarkment just because it was a New Years cruise or does the Conquest always do this?
zebraman1 Posted January 5, 2012 #33 Share Posted January 5, 2012 Thank you so much for taking the time to answer questions: Here are mine: 1. Did you visit the steak house? If so, did you hear if they were still giving out the free bottle of wine for those going the first night? 2. Do the dinner menu's coincide in this order: http://johnhealdsblog.com/menus/2012-01-03/ Again, trying to figure out which night would be best to go to the steak house. 3. We leave on Feb. 12 with three sea days (Monday, Tuesday and Saturday -- Feb 13th, 14th, and 18th.) Are elegant nights, then, Monday and Saturday??? Thank you again! I think the elegant nights are Monday and Thursday. Your cruise is similar to the one I will be on Jan 29. The ship leaves Grand Cayman at 4:00pm, so there is time for a cocktail party before elegant night. Generally, elegant nights are not on the last night of the cruise.
