Kingston ON to Buffalo?

Anyone know of a good way to get from Kingston On to Buffalo? Flying costs outrageous, and takes 8+ hours with 2 stops. None of the online sites for car rentals have heard of Kingston. Wondering if there is a direct ferry, train, or who rents cars one way?

try entering YGK for Kingston (that's their IATA airport code), the airport itself has a number of car rental agencies.

You could take a train or bus to Toronto or Ottawa and fly from there.

None of the major rental companies web site knows what to do with that airport. I suppose I could always call them. How quaint.......

Just an FYI in case someone else wants to know. I could not find any counters at the airport that rent one way except Avis, and they're sold out the day I want. Some of the other companies have counters in town, but I couldn't get to where I could tell if they rent one way to the USA because they were also sold out.

 

We've already decided on a sea cruise over the lake cruise for now, so the point has become moot.
