Hi, cruising out of san francisco aug 21st, trying to get a hotel for a few nights before hand, looking for the fishermans wharf area? looks like the americas cup is going on at the same time, we have never been there before and the prices are crazy, any recomendations? We do not want or need fancy, just safe and walkable to area attractions. Thanks for your ideas.

I would try Priceline, name your own price, in the Fishermans Wharf area and then add Union Square, if the Wharf is turned down at your price. If you are driving, all of the hotels charge a LOT for parking, so be careful of that!

already tried priceline, but did not try union square, and no, we are not driving, thanks for responding so quick.
