nieciez Posted January 6, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2012 We will be a family of 19 with 11 kids ranging from 4 years to 16 years of age sailing of Carnival Dream to Costa Maya. We would like to do a AI beach break and wanted to know which would be the best with kids.
OnTheBrink Posted January 7, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2012 I'm looking forward to seeing the answers. We'll have 15 people on the Dream in July, including 5 kids ages 2-15.

billnict Posted January 16, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 16, 2012 We ( DW, 22 yr old DS, & 18 yr DD) just got back from our cruise on the Dream yesterday (Saturday, January 14th) and once on the ship we booked the Costa Maya "Jungle Beach Break" through Carnival for $39.95 a head. We were taken by bus to a private beach approximately 30 to 45 minutes north of Costa Maya at Uvero which seemed to be literally out in the middle of nowhere. Once there we had access to the clean beach (there was two guys raking seaweed when we arrived) with a very large number of available chaise lounges, an open bar, use of kayaks, showers (fresh water,) and rest rooms/changing rooms. There is also a restaurant onsite that is extra and Jet Skis are available to rent. There were a few people selling Cuban cigars and silver jewelry but they were pretty low key. All the people there were super nice. Anyway, I had very little expectations of this excursion due to the negative reviews posted on Carnival's website but this ended up being one of my favorite days of the trip! ictcruiser Posted January 17, 2012 #5 Share Posted January 17, 2012 If you have enough advance planning, you could try to book Maya Chan beach. It fills up very fast as they limit #s to around 40 people. We were there last week with our family ranging in age from 15 months to 60. EVERYONE had a blast! Plenty of shade for the young and old in private palapas, snorkeling, glass bottom kayaks, bikes, and "sand golf" are all INCLUDED. The owner even brought out sand toys for our baby. Drinks (alcoholic and speciality NABS), lunch, pico de gaillo, and guac were also included. They have wi-fi in the bar that many people took quick advantage of. NO VENDORS. ZERO!!! The only thing we signed up for at the beginning and paid extra for were massages on the beach. You will not regret a day at Maya Chan!
