Help please...Monday morning traffic question

We will be staying an extra night at the Drury after our cruise in April. We have an 8:30 am flight on Monday. How much time do we need to allow to get to the airport? Is there a Monday morning rush hour or fog problems to consider?

I did this last year and we left downtown New Orleans around 6:30 am and we were at the airport in 20 minutes.
