Ship Tour on Island Princess

Has anyone done this before? My husband is an airline pilot and really interested in seeing the behind the scenes of a cruise ship versus a commercial airliner!

It's a fairly hefty cost at $150 a person. Just hoping for some advice.

Many Thanks.

We did this on the Crown Princess in Jan. 2006 on a Western Caribbean cruise. It is well worth the money. You see every aspect of the ship's operation .We were on the Bridge with the Captain for half an hour ,in the nerve centre of the ship where the computer systems are located ,in the laundry area , in the printing room , in the medical facility, on and back stage, in the Galley, in the food storage area, and even at the top of the ship by the smokestack.Included in the package were photographs, monographed writing paper and envelopes, Chef's jackets,Bathrobes. We talked to the key person in each area visited.Lucky us it was even on a cold rainy day at sea.

Check it out on the first day of your cruise. Unless things have changed you get on a list to see if you can do the tour . The number of guest who get to the tour is limited. It will be done on a sea day near the end of the cruise
