Stingray City

Boat ride is about 20-25 minutes. Sting Ray City is located in a reef protected sound, so it is not in open water and is usually calm. It can get choppy with bad weather or when fronts move in (usually in the winter months). If it is determined to be unsafe, the marine authorities will close the sound to tourist boat traffic and tours will be cancelled. There are many tour operators who go to SRC and the size of their boats vary. I personally find the larger catamarans to be the most stable.

Stingray sailing . com is by far the best. We went a few years ago and it was like sailing with a neighbor or friend. Very cool, very knowledgeable, and incredibally brilliant ray feeding. They even dropped my wife and i off for Roti after the sail. Amazing group!

We did this in January with StingraySailing.com, and can't say enough nice about them. It was a good-size catamaran and very calm. About a 25 minute ride out, and we sailed back. It was very smooth both ways.

Cheaper and less crowded than ship excursions (we only had 12 the day we went), I highly recommend them.
