St Marten excursion for family

What would be a good excursion for a family with an 8 and 12yr old? Of course they will want to go to a beach. But I would rather it not be a clothing optional one. Thanks!

You may want to try an excursion to Pinel island. It will cost 8-9 dollars each way by cab plus 7 per person roundtrip for the short ferry ride. Not a very crowded place. It has 3 or so bars/restaurants with facilities. There is a snorkeling area that has rental equipment. The beach is sheltered from the ocean so it is nice and calm. There are also hiking trails around the island that offer great views.
