Allure Casino Questions

We are sailing the Allure May 5, 2013... (YEAH....OUR VERY FIRST CRUISE!)... and I have a few questions regarding the casino.

My DH and I aren't gamblers. Calll us the "Ultra-Low Rollers". We've been to Vegas 4 times and have always enjoyed spending a few hours of entertainment on the nickle slots. Does the Allure have nickel slots? And are their still slots coin in or have they switched to ticket in/ticket out like Vegas? Thanks!

My mom and I took my Grandma on Oasis...so I'm going to assume the slots are very similar.

Yes...penny and nickel machines are everywhere. You have to put cash in initially, but you'll get a ticket print out just like in Vegas. Those tickets can be put in to other machines or cashed out.

We had fun and didn't put a lot of money in the casino (well I didn't...my mom on the other hand is a different story). I think I ended up bringing home $40...and I played a little every night.

Have fun!!!

The newer ships pretty much all have the machines that distribute vouchers.

And by the way ......... if you have been to Vegas 4 times, you will be one of the gambling EXPERTS on the ship. :D :D

If you're going to go to the casino... try out one of the table games. Blackjack is always easy for beginners and if you tell the dealer you're new at it and never play, they'll help you learn the game and teach you when to hit and when not to (as one of the dealers put it to me - the dealer never gambles. They always know all the cards on the table and never take a chance since they hit or stand based on the rules. This is why they're willing to help you - it doesn't change the odds on the house).

My wife and I never gamble either and this really paid off for us. We both had a really good time, which is all we really wanted, BUT as a bonus - we started with $300 we were willing to lose and ended up with a $500 profit (that is, above the initial $300). AND we had fun. Pick a really good table where everyone's having a good time and you'll have a good time too, regardless of which direction the money is changing hands.

Thanks to all!! I am super glad to hear about the low-rolling slots. My DH does like to play a few hands of BlackJack whenever the minimum is low. What are the usual minimum bets on table games in the Casino? TIA

$6.00 tables can be found. As long as you get at a table that all are laughing and joking; you can't go wrong. Allure has TWO casinos....smoking & non-smoking. Lots of low denomination slots. ENJOY!!:D;)

Plenty of penny and nickel slots ... some of their biggest money makers. ;) It definitely is good that they have TITO (ticket in ticket out) machines though. It was almost "shocking" to be on Voyager and still have to deal with buckets of coins (even though most machines looked like they had already been serviced to allow TITO).

I wont be on the Allure but maybe this question can cross over to other boats. I see that SilentBob has been on a few other ships. I'll specifically be on Freedom of the Seas and was wondering if they have any machines that will pay out in coins that have the ships logo on them? I'm a collector of casino chips, preferebly the metal coins. Alot of the novelty giagantic slot machines pay out in coins but i didnt know if the FOS would have something like that.
