I was hoping to bump this back to the top to see if we could find any answers.

 

Anyone know of any bars not too far from the pier that have more locals than tourists?

We were recommended by a local to go to the Banana Bar. Very near to the cruise terminal and well known. Ask any local and they will know where it is.

 

Food is fine and cocktails are excellent and waiting staff very helpful.

 

Would certainly go there again if we are in Antigua.

We were there in March and the BeeHive was a decent spot. There was another one, but the name escapes me right now... Right off the boat, in amongst the shops. Free wifi access with a drink purchase or if you happen to put in Carib123 for the password...;)

There is Hemmingsways directly opposite the entrance to Cruise Terminal. They have a great balcony that you can sit on with a cold beerand watch the world go by and their food is also really tasty.
