Satellite Radio in the Caribbean?

I was wondering if anyone has tried to get their XM or Sirius satellite radios to work in the caribbean while on a ship? Anyone have success?

I know that the sats aren't supposed to be picked up outside the US but point sats exactly isn't perfect and those sats are sitting there above the equator and can "see" the caribbean

People have gotten XM in Cozumel, off of ships as far south as St. Thomas

The latest programming changes:

Nascar is leaving XM in another year or so, to Sirius.Air America will only be available on XM, not Sirius, as of next month. XM will also have about 20 music stations coming to Direct TV. Oh, and AOL is offering XM.

Getting back on topic, I read that you can get a better signal if you place the antenna in a metal dish (like one of those snow dishes).
