bringing beer on board

Carnival does not allow beer to be brought onboard and will confiscate it at embarkation if it's found and give it back to you at the end of the cruise. Same goes with liqour.

You are allowed 1 750ml bottle of wine per adult passenger and a 12 pack of non-alcoholic beverages per any age passenger. They are supposed to be in your carry on and not in your checked luggage.

Can you bring any beer on the ship? Ive been told multiple things. 1 Your not allowed at all 2. a six pack 3 a 12 pack? what about liquer is it the same as the wine limit 1 per costomer ??Im sailing on the miracle in May

Nope, sorry... no beer. You're allowed one 750 ml bottle of wine or champagne per guest over the age of 21.

The only exception with beer is if it's gluten free and then you need a note from a doctor saying that you require a gluten free diet. From a friend a Carnival in Miami:

The guest can bring a 12 pack of gluten free beer but they DO in fact, have to a doctor’s note stating that they need a gluten free diet. They cannot bring any beer just because it is not sold onboard; only applies to beers labeled as “gluten free”.

I went thru the gluten free beer headache last year~ I believe it's now only a 6pack ~ at least that is what I was told 2 times by the special needs department.
