The Star

I will be crusing on the Star and am wondering what the freestyle cruising is? Also are there any places to eat that dont require additional fee, besides the MDR and the buffet? Thank you ;)

Freestyle means you are free to "whatever". Eat when you want, where you want, and with whom you like or alone......it's all about the options. Dress up if you like, or go more casual...no formal nights, instead they offer optional dress up...or not nights. Stay in your cabin until you get off the ship, you don't have to wait in public rooms with your suitcases on the last morning.

The Blue Lagoon is open 23 or 24 hours a day, no reservations, no extra fee.....comfort food. I love their wings, fish/chips, mozz sticks, brownie sundaes, strawberry poundcake, among other things.....mmmmmm

Freestyle refers to your choice of where to dine, when and with whom. and what to wear or not wear. Not that everything is free.

You will have several options: two main dining rooms, the buffetsas well as Blue Lagoon, room service etc.

Here is the link to all the NCL fleet restaurants...what costs and what doesn't.

Think of this as a resort where you can do whatever you want to do whenever you want to do it. There is a multitude of dining and entertainment options. Check it out on the NCL website..

The MDRs are fine, but since you at a resort, why not sample some of the other Excellent Restaurants? La Cucina is excellent for $10 pp and Endless Summer Tex Mex is also only $10 pp. Ginza was so good we ate there several times...they are $15 pp. And for that Special Night out, try La Bistro which is French cuisine...and they have the best steak filet onboard. The Sushi Bar is Ala Carte and very reasonable. I think its a great ship and an excellent value. Give it a try!

By the way , some points of interest: 1- Bier Garten is an excellent place to watch Sunsets and Sail Aways.

2- Don't miss sailing under the Skyway bridge around 6pm

3- Spinnakers has a great Live Band called Midnight Revue

4- Duo Amaury and Elements are 2 good shows to catch in the Stardust Theater.

5- Don't miss the White Hot Party. Bring something white to wear and some bling!

6- Excite, the pool band is very good too.
