ValentineCruise Posted January 24, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2012 Doing this tour in a little over 2 weeks. How much is enough? Considering it's a full day guided tour, I have no idea.
nzdisneymom Posted February 14, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 14, 2012 Doing this tour in a little over 2 weeks. How much is enough? Considering it's a full day guided tour, I have no idea. The exchange rate in December was $1 US = $2 Belize dollars. We had two guides and a bus driver on our cruise-ship-booked excursion to Xunantunich and tipped each of them $5 US. There were four of us in our party (two adults, two teens).

Can you tell me about how far the walk is from the ferry to the ruins? Is it level or up hill? Thank You
Happyladi Posted March 3, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 3, 2012 I'm considering this also in April. My concern is the heat and humidity. Is the bus AC good? How was the boat ride? Do you recommend it? Thanks for any information.
BigeLG Posted March 7, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 7, 2012 Can you tell me about how far the walk is from the ferry to the ruins? Is it level or up hill?Thank You from the ferry they drive you half way up. Then you can walk the rest of the way. but if you can't do that they will drive you all the way up. CDNJehn Posted March 28, 2012 #7 Share Posted March 28, 2012 We tipped $10 for the 2 guides and the driver. We really enjoyed our excursion to Xunantunich. Bus ride was long but nice, lots to see. It was HOT the day we were there, but there are trees all over for some shade safety. Once you start climbing the main structure you are exposed to the sun. Other than that you could hide if you wanted to. Lunch was good, guides were very informative. We booked through Carnival because the location was so far from the port. Glad we did. GrandmaHofmann Posted April 29, 2012 #8 Share Posted April 29, 2012 We always tip 20% of the cost of the tour for the two of us. So many people stiff the guides.
