At first I was elated, atlast a cruise to my favorite city, Las Vegas. But then I remembered, no piers on the strip. Too bad.

Hi Jan & Len,

We are going to Vegas on the 25th (Monday thru Friday) of October. It will not be a cruise ship, but we promised my sister last year that we would go then cancelled and went on a cruise with our daughter & son -in-law instead. For some reason it was very expensive from here last year and a lot more reasonable this year. We never made it very far the last time we were there so we would like to do a little more exploring this time. The shows are great but any good ones are so expensive I wouldn't pay to go to them any way. Just enjoy walking all over and taking in the sites!!!

Glad to hear your bag finally got home after its vacation! It needed a longer time away than mine!!. Keep in touch!

Kathy, I've tried e-mailing you at the address you gave me onboard, but for some reason it's not getting through. I tried sending twice. Will try again.

Well, I am back to normal, but do miss all the desserts.

Sure was nice meeting everyone. Best wishes in all your future cruising adventures. And Anne & Brian have a great time in Vegas. If you haven't been before, it's a nice break to take a day to drive to the nature areas outside of town if you are at all interested in that kind of thing. Any guidebook will have that info.

I did get an email from you and another message that appeared to come back. Been busy so I haven't answered too many emails. I also forwarded your email address to Donna since it appeared to be the same one that was returned before. Meanwhile my office manager who was unable to reply to an email a few months ago has had no problem. Our sons both got married in May so we have been exchanging pictures. We both went out after tax season ended and bought the same outfit...exactly the same, but she didn't go to Aruba to buy a necklace [img]http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif[/img] ...her son went there on his honeymoon. My kids are still off somewhere in Hawaii but they don't cruise well. [img]http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif[/img]
I am also missing those desserts! Tonight I bought a frozen Pepperidge Farm cake but it's not quite the same. We'll be getting together with Len & Jan and Donna and maybe Deb for dinner this weekend so I'll have to see if I can find my favorite chocolate/white chocolate cake to serve for dessert. I've avoided buying one up until now because there is no way I need to eat the whole thing myself, however, I did manage to lose 3/4 pound while I was away according to my doctor's scale (and that was with my shoes on)! Still need to finalize our plans...I had considered having a cookout here but we might end up going out. Jan, the invasion of the gypsy moth caterpillars has begun. They have spread from your Lakeville trees and deck to mine in Taunton! My guess, the are heading north and eating all our trees and covering every deck and driveway along the way!
Been looking for some options for next cruise but I haven't found what I want yet. I tend to like the repositioning cruises but nothing has caught my eye. I am looking forward to reading about the POA cruises that have started this week but not sure I am ready for that long trip to Hawaii...and having a ship with no casino. Where would I go to loose my money? Phil is talking about a shorter cruise south, maybe out of New York this time. Now that we both work for his boss we have been told that we can both take a long vacation next year, no problem, but not at the same time. I guess they missed us? Hi everyone,
Nice to see so many of you here. I haven't had much computer time lately, so I'm catching up.

We did have a great time, didn't we?!? Still don't have all the pix from the digital printed, but the regular film pix are good. Don't know when I will get a chance to scrapbook them. I think I will have to be quite selctive or my scrapbook would be an encyclopedia.

I've been taking advantage of some freebies printing pictures at the Kodak picture machines. Between the cruise and the wedding I should be done in a year or two... [img]http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif[/img] I actually started printing sheets of index pictures to put in a notebook with my camera disks tonight. It was my New Year's resolution to do this and tonight I added several pages to the one page from Christmas that I printed the 1st of the year! My next move will be to add to my Snapfish collection online since I need to order some pictures soon to satisfy the requirements of storing and sharing my pictures there. Even with the cable connection it takes a while to download so many pictures. After my last cruise I found a vacation scrapbook with places to store the picture CDs. Yeah, it's still in the box but I have it on my list of things to do. [img]http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gif[/img]
Donna sent me the webcam from the Sky/Aloha today. Not sure where it was going this week but it was somewhere in CA. Any new pictures from James this week? Sounded like they were quite busy the end of last week getting ready to cruise again.
It is finally summer here...have no idea what happened to spring??? Laurel (my office manager) pointed out to me last weekend that the day of her son's and then my son's weddings were the best two days we had in May.
Anyone, besides RuthAnn and Roger, made any plans for next year? Will be interesting to see what vacations everyone plans next time. The newlyweds will be back from Hawaii in a few days. They had some sort of package but not a cruise. Maybe Jr can convince Dad that we should make that our next trip?

Hi Joanne,
Thanks for the info on Las Vegas. We love to get out and around. After awhile the " ding ding ding" drives me crazy. I am not as lucky as Kathy so I try to avoid the machines as much as I can. Hubby has more luck so as long as he wins we can keep our heads above water!!!(More than I like to admit...we drown)

Very anxious to hear the reviews on this weeks trip on the "Sky" (I just refuse to call it that other name)It must be a real nightmare for James trying to organize it all. I do not envy him that job. Hopefully it will all come together for him with excellent results.

I know you'll feel closer when I tell you that we have decided to go to Ann's Place for dinner Saturday. We had the rehearsal party there two weeks ago. My guess is that Phil will order the chicken parm. We had to preorder our dinners and he was very impressed when he saw the chicken but he had selected the scrod. Someone's date snagged my prime rib but the waitress saw how upset I was and ordered another for me. The newlyweds will be back sometime tomorrow so I have been trying to organize and print some of my 5 mini disks of pictures before they send the 20 or so cameras they had on the tables out to be developed. By then Larry, our photographer for all three weddings and my parents anniversary party, should have the proofs ready and we'll have more memories of the big day.

I have been uploading my pictures to Snapfish and should be able to send everyone an invitation to view them soon. As hard as I tried to keep them in numerical order, my computer had other plans so there is no rhyme or reason to the sequence. I did however set my camera to date them so we can look at the itinerary to see where we were that day... [img]http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif[/img] I will also make some CDs to send out if anyone wants. Both Debbie and I lost the first few days of the cruise so it would be great if someone else wants to share. I had so many nice pictures of our 1st get together but accidently ruined that disk... Aruba was not a big deal since I took loads of pictures there last year but I am also missing the 1st VIP party. [img]http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif[/img] One disk keeps saying that it is repairing the data but I don't think it is going to happen. Ann...I think the noise in the casino was saying ding dong...not ding ding for me! I won a few dollars the 1st 2 days and procedeeded to give that and more back over the following two weeks! [img]http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif[/img]

Hi Kathy,
Thankyou so much for letting us see the pictures on snapfish. It sure brought back the memories. I have been reading the replies from the first couple trips of the POA. Sure glad I am at home. Will go back when it all clears up!!
Trying to understand how to do things on this new system. Not very adept at new computer things!! Bear with me until I figure it out!
