Price of Xumal tour through autoprogresso

Anyone taken the Xumal ruins tour through Autoprogresso and paid for it in town where the bus drops you off?

What is the price if you pay for it as you get on the bus?

We are sailing on Feb 4th on the Triumph and are looking at taking this tour.

Can anyone tell me how strenuous this tour is? Thinking of taking Dad who is a fairly active 75, just wondering how much climbing or brisk walking is done?

From the welcome center and entrance you need to walk up a fairly long grade, not terribly steep, up to the ruins. Once there, I think conceivably, you could get a pretty good self tour with very little stair climbing involved. Most of the area is grass and small hills and plenty of shade, if needed. In order to follow the tour guide however, you are going to need to climb stairs, not a particular lot of them but some that are quite steep. There are a lot of pictures online take a look at some of them and you'll get an idea of the grounds.
