Blazerboy Posted August 11, 2005 Author #26 Share Posted August 11, 2005 Hey, Sodell, Welcome back! Hey, Carol- just over two weeks!:D Sodell, Given that you're at Cal. and Market, there are really three choices: San Francisco Traditional: Tadich Grille- seafood, heavy on the traditional preparations, been there forever, quite the spot with visitors. Right there on California St. Upscale Cuisine: One Market (restaurant name and address) Bradley Ogden's place --really good, or Boulevard, Nancy Oakes' place on the corner of Mission and Stewart, also really good. Avoid!: Cafe Americano in the new Hotel Vitale on the Embarcadero between Mission and Market. It's the new hot spot, so the decor is fun, view great (fun place for drinks), but service was horrendous, and they need some time to get the menu together- try them on a visit later this Fall! Ferry Building!: Slanted Door has lunch, so that's always great, but we just had lunch the other day at Hog Island Oyster Bar, very casual, but a great raw bar with enough other menu items to keep non-raw seafood people happy- and, like Slanted Door, good views of the water. Have fun! Andrew
Kallen Posted August 16, 2005 #27 Share Posted August 16, 2005 Any suggestions for hotels which aren't too far from either the SF airport or Serramonte Centre?
Blazerboy Posted August 16, 2005 Author #28 Share Posted August 16, 2005 Sorry, not a lot in that area that I know. There are lots of hotels near the airport, and you can do a search using hotelres.com (better than hotels.com) that would give you the most info about hotels in that area. Prices are pretty good through that website too.
Kallen Posted November 25, 2005 #29 Share Posted November 25, 2005 Thanks Blazer and Hubble! We have now made reservations at Staybridge suites post-cruise and I think it's close enough to cab it to Serramonte Center for my shopping chores. I appreciated the link, believe me! I was told about a bakery near Fisherman's Wharf that serves great soups in bread bowls..anyone know the name. We are going to be in the area for a short time and having the name /address will be helpful.
